Join us in The Muck gallery on Thursday, March 10th at 6pm for a meet and greet reception. Mingle, enjoy refreshments, and chat with our new Artist in Residence Marlo De Lara and our new Development Director Shereen Youssef.

Marlo De Lara is The Muck’s 2022 Artist in Residence. She received a PhD in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds, and an MA in Psychosocial Studies at the Centre of Psychoanalytic Studies at Essex. Her research areas focus on personal and social histories/narratives, postcolonial/post-imperial studies, racial trauma, and migration/diaspora studies, specifically Filipinx/a/o Americans. Her practice works within the realms of sound performance, visual distraction, and film.
Shereen Youssef has recently joined The Muck team as a Development Director. She also works as the Founding Director for Create a Smile, a non-profit organization serving children battling cancer. Shereen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University, Long Beach in 2003. She continued her education earning an Executive Master’s in Business with an emphasis in Strategic & Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University in 2008. Her previous experience includes banking, healthcare administration and business development. Shereen is currently a proud member of the AFPOC, Association of Fundraising Professionals in OC, and has become a consultant for many grassroots projects in the Orange County region.
