From ceramics, drawing, and painting to photography, animation, dance, theater, and more, there’s something for every young artist to explore.

Week 1: Birds of a Feather, Create Together!
Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th, 2026.

Let’s kick off MASC by getting to know the birds that call the Muckenthaler home! From tiny finches to busy woodpeckers, noisy starlings, soaring hawks, wise owls, and more, there’s so much to discover. This immersive clay week, we’ll let these feathered friends inspire our creativity as we mold, shape, and create fun bird-inspired projects!

Week 2: Near, Far, Wide, and Narrow
Monday, June 8th through Friday, June 12th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
In this week, campers will explore space, distance, and composition through visual, performing, and literary arts. Discover how different perspective and physical positioning can transform our meaning and stories. Whether through photography, mixed media, 3D art, or dramatic performance, by the end of the week we'll gain fun new ways to express our ideas and emotions by using the spaces around us.

Week 3: Secret Gardens
Monday, June 15th through Friday, June 19th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
Behind twisty paths, under big leafy plants, some of the most magical gardens are hidden just out of sight. This week, campers will explore the enchanted world of secret gardens through clay, natural materials, and found objects. They’ll create whimsical clay sculptures and imaginative gardens that celebrate nature’s hidden wonders.

Week 4: Beyond the Stars
Monday, June 22nd through Friday, June 26th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
Take a trip to outer space! Campers will explore the wonders of our solar system, using mixed media and photographic techniques to create their own colorful cosmic masterpieces. Using their imagination, campers will travel across the universe discovering fun new ways to bring the mysteries of space to life through art!

Week 5: Life on the Coast
Monday, June 29th through Friday, July 3rd, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
For centuries, artists have been inspired by the colors, shapes, and textures of coastal regions and this week so will we! From painting rolling waves, sculpting sea life, to creating ocean landscape assemblage, campers will be immersed in the beauty, wildlife, and magic of life by the sea.

Cancellations Policy:
There is no refund, only week interchange. If an interchange is not desired, please contact Chief Education Officer Stephannie Vicuna at 714-738-6366 or stephannie@themuck.org. Should a camp session fail to reach the minimum participants per week, camp will be cancelled and tuition refunded.

Week 6: Feast for an Artist
Monday, July 6th through Friday, July 10th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
This week campers will explore how artists turn culinary ideas into playful, visually “delicious” creations using mixed media, visual art, and sculpture. Campers will design a full, imaginative multi-course menu of faux foods, from appetizers to desserts, making each creation a feast for the eyes.

Week 7: Stories, Myths, and Legends
Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 17th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
Let’s discover how stories take shape in art, from the Pacific Islands to ancient civilizations. Campers will explore myths, legends, and folktales, using symbols, paint, patterns, textiles, and clay to create their own narrative art that connects them to the past, present, and near future.

Week 8: Plant Power
Monday, July 20th through Friday, July 24th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
This week, campers will immerse themselves in the colorful world of wildflowers! They’ll discover how these delicate blooms have inspired artists across cultures and creative mediums. Using ceramics and mixed-media techniques, campers will explore the intricate shapes, textures, and colors of nature and transform their inspiration into stunning wildflower masterpieces.

Week 9: Sea Creatures of the Deep Blue
Monday, July 27th through Friday, July 31st, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
Dive into an underwater adventure and uncover the wonders of life beneath the waves! Campers will explore the dazzling colors, intricate patterns, and fascinating textures of sea creatures, from shimmering fish to mysterious animals hiding among coral reefs. Using mixed media, they will bring their own imaginative underwater creatures to life, creating playful, vibrant art inspired by the magic of the ocean.

Week 10: Artistic Constructions
Monday, August 3rd through Friday, August 7th, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Open to ages 6-12
For the final week of camp, students will use clay and natural materials to mold and create sculptures inspired by the shapes and textures of the land. They’ll explore land art and make hands-on installations, discovering new ways of understanding our multifaceted relationship with the Earth.
