Adult Ceramics
with Young Shin Kim

Create your own utilitarian and decorative ceramic pieces for everyday use with Master Ceramist, Young Shin Kim. This class is for intermediate students who already have a knowledge of the Buncheong technique and will learn how to utilize in their own pieces and how to use other materials; underglazes, low fire glazes, and slips. This class will consist of both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. All the pieces are glazed with lead-free and food safe glazes and are fired at high-firing in gas kilns.

You will learn how to make pieces with both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. Learn how to conceive forms and how to complete the pieces. Learn the Buncheong technique, a special decoration skill with white slip, rooted in Korean traditional pottery. All the pieces are glazed with lead-free and food safe glazes and are fired at high-firing in gas kilns. All beginners welcome. No experience with clay necessary.
