Introduction to Sewing and Needlework with Rachel Kiskaddon Mondays - 5pm - 6pm
Jan 5- Feb 9 Cost: Non Member: $109; Member: 10% off Age: Teens (13-17)
Learn useful sewing and needlework skills while making fun craft projects! Students will create both functional and artistic pieces and learn hand stitching, cross stitching, embroidery, mending techniques. The final project will be completed using a sewing machine.

Adult Class learning the aspects and processes of hand building, hand coiling, and handmade pottery forms. Building different shapes and forms out of clay using time-honored practices in hand-formed pottery. Students will also engage in the hand burnishing and decorative hand painting techniques using different types of underglazes and brushwork applications.

A personal essay is a story about you that can be shared in blogs, newspapers, and magazines. The possibilities are endless! Writing a personal essay requires style and finesse that doesn't always come easily to us. In this class we're going to read contemporary personal essays and write our own. Students will come away with a personal essay they can share to print.

When people think of Sonnets, they think of Shakespeare. But there's more to sonnets than the Bard! In this class we'll explore sonnets from its Arabic origins to the ways it traveled through Europe and how contemporary US and Latin American poets are reshaping the form. This interactive class will deepen your appreciation and understanding for one of the oldest forms of poetry.
