The Muck recognized for combining arts with education

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center has received a 2016 Superintendent's Award for Excellence in Museum Education for for its programs combining art instruction with science, technology, engineering and math studies.

The award is given jointly by the California Association of Museums and State Superintendent of Public Instruction and recognizes museum programs that make major contributions to K-12 education.

The Muck was among six museums selected.
