Art Kit Week 6:

Tuesday, April 28, between 10am and 12pm

Project: “Collaborative Watercolors”
Click here for step by step photo instructions!

This week's project, "Collaborative Watercolors,” features the work of local artist Marjorie Kerr. As a Minimalist, she was inspired by the Bauhaus Movement and "Hard Edge' painter Florence Arnold.

Many of her pieces are artistic reflections of her landscapes that she calls "Horizons". The inspiration for "Horizons" comes from her life experiences growing up in Iowa, and the feeling of the vast space around her, and then moving to California and experiencing the serene beauty and colors of the coastal sky and sunsets.

Marjorie calls herself a Graphic Artist, but her artistic repertoire spans across much more than just graphics, her creations include painting, prints, cloth banners and sculptures. In collaborating, Marjorie now 86 years old, hopes her artwork will inspire young artists to express the beauty they see around them.

Art Kit Week 5:

Are the kids getting antsy stuck at home? Come to our drive-in/drive-out art kiosk and pick up a free Muck Art Project Kit on April 21, between 10am and 12pm.

Project: Masks of the World

To make sure the kits are as safe as possible, we have taken a number of precautions:

1. The kits were made days in advance so the virus won't still be living on any surface.
2. Tuesday morning, all personnel, whether they touch the kits or not will be wearing gloves.
3. The kits will be left on a table for you to pick up, NOT handed to you.
4. People helping with this project will have a table separating them from your car window—they will be six feet away.
