Join curator Matt Leslie and Lisa Duardo, manager of Modern Multiples and sister of the late artist Richard Duardo, for a special look at our current Contemporary prints show.
On Thursday, August 11, 7:30 p.m. the Muckenthaler Cultural Center will host a discussion and gallery tour of the exhibition Richard Duardo: Artist and Master Printmaker, on view through August 21. The free tour will feature the late artist’s sister Lisa Duardo and nephew Montana Mills, of Modern Multiples, the highly regarded print studio founded by Richard Duardo. Filmmaker Heather Flores will screen excerpts from an original video about Richard Duardo. Poet, artist and educator Karen Holden will share experiences working as an edition printer for Richard Duardo during the early years of his Aztlán Multiples studios in the 1980's.
Featuring works by Richard Duardo, John Valadez, Frank Romero, Carlos Almaraz, John Van Hamersveld, Bob Zoell, Camille Rose Garcia, Germs, Sage Vaughn, Sonia Romero and others.
